2nd Grade

Hi, my name is Sarah Schuler and I am thrilled to be back at Inspire this school year! I grew up in Des Moines, Iowa, and graduated with a BA in psychology from the University of Iowa (go Hawks)! I moved to Denver after graduation and decided that working with children was my passion, so I went to the Metropolitan State University of Denver and received a Post-Baccalaureate License in Elementary Education. I then earned a Master’s Degree in Educational Leadership and Policy Studies with an Administration License from the University of Northern Colorado. When I came to Inspire, I taught literacy intervention and MLE. Last year I went back into the classroom as a 2nd grade literacy teacher. Prior to that, I spent four years as an Assistant Principal at a DPS elementary school and prior to being an AP, I taught both second and third grade. Next year will be my 16th year in education, all with Denver Public Schools. I love being part of the Inspire community that values community, collaboration, and hands-on exploratory experiences. I live in Central Park with my husband and daughter, Scarlett. In our spare time, we love skiing/snowboarding, spending time outdoors, spending time with family and friends, cooking (I am a vegetarian, my husband and daughter are not), enjoying family movie nights, and we LOVE traveling! I am excited to be a part of the 2nd grade team again at Inspire this year!
