Hi!! My name is Kelly Hansen and I am beyond excited to join the Inspire community as a 1st grade teacher! I grew up in the Bay Area (Go Warriors, 49ers, & Giants!), but I’ve been in Denver since 2009. I went to UC San Diego for college where I was on the rowing team and earned second place at the NCAA Championships two years in a row! I definitely miss the San Diego weather and the ocean, but I’m so glad I don’t have to wake up at 4am for early morning rows anymore! After some time working in nonprofits out here in Denver, I finally found my true passion in teaching and got my Masters in Curriculum & Instruction at the University of Denver. I am going into my 12th year of teaching this year and am so excited to join the first grade team! I can’t wait to build relationships and laugh alongside my students – let’s have some fun! Outside of school I’m usually out walking with my quirky husky mix Ellie, curling up with a good book and some snacks, or daydreaming about my next DIY project. Can’t wait to meet you!
