Hello Inspire Families! My name is Katie Corley and this is my second year at Inspire teaching Second Grade Literacy. This will be my 17th year in education-most of it spent in Texas where I taught Kindergarten and preschool. I am originally from Tennessee and went to Middle Tennessee State University where I met my Native Texan husband. We have one daughter in middle school, one daughter in high school, and a not-so-lazy bow tie-wearing Basset Hound named Bernard (also known as Bernie)! My family and I live in the Central Park neighborhood and we love our community! We love to hike and camp in our Airstream and just get outdoors. I also enjoy yoga and music- a fave couple of bands are The Suffers and Lake Street Dive (and jazz). I like to read and be creative with my home space, organize, and discover new plant-based recipes. I’m looking forward to this school year and welcoming your most precious gift, your child, into my/our classroom home.

Favorite Morning Snack: Bagel with vegan cream cheese, Hummus and pita chips
Favorite Drink: Topo Chico, 1/2 sweet ice tea, Sonic cherry vanilla coke with lime
Favorite Morning Drink: Chi late with soy (hot) or iced coffee with oat milk and vanilla
Favorite Lunch Food: Any foods that are vegan…I like it all!
Favorite Candy/Treat: Swedish Fish, plant-based cookies/brownies, and UNreal candies, Spicy Chili Doritos (purple bag), Gardettos
Favorite Color: Green
Favorite Flower: All flowers, I love house plants too
Favorite Places to Shop: Anthropology, REI, Nordstrom, Lululemon, Amazon (Nail Salon…Rino Nail Bar)
Favorite Places to Eat: Lucina, Nocturne Jazz Club, City O City, Watercourse, Edgewater Food Hall, Stanley BH, Flower Child
Favorite Activities: Yoga, hiking, camping… outside activities, home decorating, travel, and collecting vinyl records
