My name is Jon Wilsey and I am thrilled to be a part of Inspire’s extraordinary team of educators. I can not wait to start my first year as part of this committed group of families and educators.
I have worked in education for my whole career. This will be my 18th year in the field. I completed my undergraduate degree in education from the University of Michigan. After graduation, my journey started on Chicago’s southwest side where I worked as a 5th grade teacher. I worked in three different elementary schools in Chicago Public where I taught students from kindergarten to sixth grade. Throughout this time, I really honed my craft as an educator and focused on building strong learning communities. I then completed my masters degree in educational leadership to continue my educational journey. That led me to the Chicago suburbs where I was an assistant principal for 3 years. I consistently worked to create the best learning environment for students, so they can reach their full potential academically. My goal is to support our school team in creating strong, supportive environments for our learners.
I am a Michigander at heart that has found my way to Colorado to be near family. Spending time with my wife and two young children brings me so much joy. They help me frame my decision making and have helped me to become a better person and educator along the way. Besides my family, I spend much of the rest of my time rooting for my home state sports teams (Detroit Tigers, Detroit Lions, Detroit Red Wings, Michigan football/basketball).
