My name is James Leonard and I am thrilled to be a member of the Inspire community! I am from Athens, Greece and graduated from the University of Michigan with my undergrad in Elementary Education. I have several younger siblings and have always loved watching kids learn, make connections, and become more confident as they discover everything that the world has to offer and what that they are capable of. I especially love teaching 5th grade because it’s so fun to watch as the students are getting ready for middle school and preparing for their teen years. Outside of school, I have a cat named Leo who is the ultimate snuggle-buddy! I also love to hike and cycle when the weather is right, and travel during the summers. The world is filled with so many amazing places, histories, and cultures and I want to see it all!

Favorite Activities: I love movies, the movie theater is my second home. I am also a gym rat, I love lifting weights and doing cardio. Cooking is another of my favorite activities because eating is one of my favorite pastimes, I am always looking for new recipes and cookbooks to expand my culinary repertoire.
