I am excited to start my third year as Assistant Principal at Inspire Elementary and to continue to build upon all the amazing things we are doing as a school! I have served as a teacher, District Instructional Coach, Assistant Principal, Principal, and Regional Math Director in my nearly 20-year career. I began teaching elementary students in Prince George’s County, Maryland, and in Fairfax County, VA. I have spent most of my career in the K-6 setting and have also coached teachers and school leaders at all levels. After receiving a master’s degree in Educational Leadership, I moved into the Assistant Principal role in Washington, DC before relocating to Denver as a Principal where my school won the Colorado “Centers for Excellence” award for school improvement in 2018. After my first year here at Inspire, we won the “Governor’s Distinguished Improved Award” in 2022. Additionally, Curriculum Associates acknowledged Inspire Elementary as a “Super Stretch School” in 2023 for the high percentage of students achieving their stretch growth in iReady mathematics. I am humbled to be part of such an amazing community and group of students dedicated to academic excellence.
My husband and I are foster parents to three amazing boys. We enjoy hiking and traveling with them and our three standard poodles. I also enjoy biking, skiing, playing trumpet in the Mile High Freedom Band, watching all college sports (Go Vols!), and serving on the board of directors for a local educational non-profit. I have an older sister and younger brother that live in Tennessee where my parents also reside.
