Hannah Mealer
5th Grade Teacher

Hello! My name is Hannah Mealer and I am so looking forward to joining the Inspire Elementary team for the 2020-2021 academic year as a 5th grade teacher! I grew up in Columbus, Ohio where I received my Bachelor’s in Middle Childhood Education from Ohio State University with specializations in mathematics and literacy. In 2015, I was accepted into Teach for America and moved to Phoenix, Arizona where I taught for four years and received my Master’s Degree in Elementary Education from Arizona State University. I then spent a year teaching abroad in Berlin, Germany in 2017 prior to moving to Denver in 2018. Over the course of the last seven years I have taught both 4th and 3rd grade kiddos in various school environments and I am so excited to work with grade 5 students this year!

I am an extremely passionate educator and a firm believer that learning should be joyous and full of inquiry and discovery. I aim to build strong relationships with my students and create a learning environment where all students feel seen, appreciated, challenged and know that their voices and opinions matters. I am a big believer in students learning to advocate for their needs and work towards autonomy. They are our future change-makers and leaders and I am happy to be part of their journey.

When I am not in the classroom I am an avid hiker, backpacker and rock climber. I also love spending time with my partner Victor and discovering new, beautiful places in Colorado. When given time to relax, I especially love to read and paint.

I am looking forward to a wonderful year where we all settle into a “new normal” and adapt and grow together!
