Kindergarten

I have spent the previous 3 years at Inspire teaching 1st grade and learned a lot about myself and my practice. I am thrilled to take that knowledge back to kindergarten this year.  Kindergarten is such a wonderful grade.  Students grow, develop, forge friendships, learn how to engage with learning, begin to understand as well as express themselves in positive ways and how to be a great human.  I have always believed kindergarten is the foundation where students begin their love learning.  If it happens now it will carry them through the times when school is difficult.  Previous to my time at Inspire, I spent 5 years teaching ECE and 5 years teaching kindergarten at a Title 1 school in the Cole neighborhood of Denver.  I was born and raised in Houston, TX. Then I ventured off to The University of Arizona in Tucson for my undergraduate degree. After graduating, I moved to Boulder and have been in Colorado ever since then. It was out here I renewed my passion for teaching and working with children. I went back to school and received my teaching license and a masters in Educational Psychology from UC, Denver. When I am not in the classroom, I enjoy spending time with my family. We try our best to get out and experience all that this great state has to offer. Whether that is a bike ride around the neighborhood, hiking in the foothills, snowshoeing in the mountains, relaxing with friends, cooking together, or finding a few spare moments to continue a book I’ve been trying to finish.  I feel refreshed and energized about being back in kinder and couldn’t be more excited to have your child join along!!
