Marisol Enriquez

With more than 18 years of extensive educational experience, I look forward to preparing our children to positively impact the future in my role as Principal at Inspire Elementary. I am a Denver, Colorado native who graduated from George Washington High School in Denver Public Schools and completed a degree in Doctor of Philosophy the University of Denver in Education Administration. It is my honor to serve the Inspire Elementary community and I am driven by a fierce focus on equity for all children, my daughter Lucia Sol who will be in 2nd grade at Inspire Elementary, my son Christian who just graduated from high school, and my husband Julio. In addition to my service in education, I enjoy spending time with family, reading, movies, traveling, pilates, yoga, cycling, and visiting hot springs.

A community of educators, parents and community members met to design Inspire Elementary School. We challenged ourselves to examine the nuances that made our personal learning experience meaningful and came together to learn, dream, collaborate and create. We believe students need to positively impact the world we live in and the world we have yet to know. We tested our ideas against the question: Is this what I would want for my own child? In fact, many of us designed Inspire Elementary as a place for our own children. “Imagine schools as incubators for a new generation of designers that will remake the human presence on Earth in ways that regenerate ecologies and create the foundation for a fair, decent, and prosperous post-carbon economy. Imagine schools that foster the kind of thinking that bridge the chasms of ethnicity, nationality, religion, species, and time. Imagine a world made sustainable because we first taught every child to overcome hatred and fear and educated them to be ecologically competent. Imagine schools that draw forth the very best from each child.” This school is designed for our “own” children using inspiration from research in educational practices and borrowing from models we admire including: High-Tech-High schools in San Diego, CA, The Stanford Design School in Palo Alto, CA, and EL Education/Expeditionary Learning.

With an innate and genuine passion for students and families I am committed to providing staff the tools they need to ensure inclusive excellence for all students. I look forward to realizing our dream to Inspire, Innovate and Impact together.
